GU10 LED light bulb

Why switch from Halogen to LED

If you are like me, you’ve been continually disappointed by the surprising frequency of failures of typical GU10 LED halogen bulbs.

Not only do they get extremely hot, hazardously so in way too many cases, but they are expensive and carry no real replacement warranty to back up claims of two year long life. I’ve actually had several of these burn out prematurely after only 2 months usage at an average of 4 hours a night.

Perhaps you have said to yourself, “There must be a better GU10 bulb!” One that will not operate at a safe to the touch temparature. One that will save energy (due to significantly reduced heat output). One that will last 4-5 years before failure
What is the big deal about GU10 LED?

GU10 LED light bulbs are designed to replace existing GU10 halogen light bulbs and in most cases they are the same size, but some designs are longer or than the standard halogen variant so be sure to check the product specs if your application requires a specific height. Offering energy savings of up to 90% over regular GU10 halogen light bulbs. Not only do they last longer than halogen light bulbs, they run much cooler and use much less energy. With such a low energy cost and long lifetime, LED based GU10 light bulbs have a staggeringly low cost-of-ownership. In some cases, considering a lifetime of 20,000 – 50,000 hours, you only need one GU10 LED light bulb for every 20-50 halogen light bulbs used. Whether you have a few kitchen spotlights or a whole office block of halogen light bulbs, GU10 LED performs equally well. Warm white colour: the high quality light is ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, hallways, shops, bars, hotels and offices. Since they emit virtually no heat, they are ideal for use in enclosed spaces such as cupboards and display cabinets.

Fortunately for us, we have, in the GU10 LED bulb, the answer on all fronts. The GU10 LED…

* Lasts up to 3 times longer than the comparable halogen
* operates at much lower temparature than the comparable halogen. Actually not harmful to touch, vs scalding that can occur with a typical GU-10 halogen
* Outputs natural white lite of pure luminocity
* Has significantly reduced failure rate due to solid state design which renders the GU10 LED bulb impervious to issues related line voltage changes, power surges, power spikes and the like

Types of GU10 LED bulbs

You can get GU10 LEDs in a variety of designs suitable for an unlimited number of scenarios. All designs are built around high power LED bulbs which produce a brilliant luminant light in warm or cool temperature shades to mimic familiar incandescent hues. There are too many to mention. Deals can be had both in bulk or limited orders.

  7. Admin, I have to totally agree with you on that aspect. For a long time, I was very uneducated in the differences between halogen and led light bulbs. Like you, I’ve had halogen bulbs blow up on me after only a couple of months with very little use per day. My kitchen has a 4-bulb over head lamp, and my hallway is a trio overhead lamp. So admittedly, when you have to watch the wallet… you tend to choose the cheaper option, which of course, are halogen bulbs! After finally finding out more about LEDs and its benefits, I started browsing internet shopping sites and I found that www.wholesaleledlights.co.uk had the widest range of GU10 Led light bulbs than others. UK based site, but they do international deliveries. I fully recommend checking the site out, as its not just GU10s that they sell.

  8. I was looking for GU10 LED equivalent to the Halogen Bulb for a long time. Having a kids bedroom above our living room with 12 GU10 Bulbs in meant they kept blowing out. I've been told this is due to the kids jumping in their rooms and making the GU10 Halogens underneath loose the filament life. Look for a GU10 LED as I know they are shock resistant and do last a very long time compared to Halogens. I got my GU10 LED Bulbs from www.wholesaleledlights.co.uk they offer the biggest range I have found online. I went for the cluster LEDs and the light is great..

Switched to LED 6 months ago and my bill dramatically went down.
